Regards Jim MacQueen Akron, OH** These are just adminstrative rules, rules of competition that the league wants you to help administer. They have nothing to do with TLOTG, how, when or why you blow the whistle, how when or why you show a card or otherwise manage the match, other than to have the coach sub out a cautioned player. Same type rule in South Texas youth... a player may not play with a cast of ANY type. Has this changed TLOTG? NO, they are defining what an ELIGIBLE player is. The Over 30 league here has banned slide tackles and requires the referee to caution (and show a yellow card) to the player who does. For those referees who are too don't believe they can do this, they aren't required to accept those assignments. As an independent contractor, if you accept a job, you are accepting to do the job as your contractee wants. Jay in Clear Lake City Texas
