Subject:Clean tackle from behind...video clip
The High School Board (NFHS) to which I belong has posted several video
clips at http://www.ecsoa.org/videos.htm .
All are worth a look and could possibly foster splinter discussions. Two
are close offside non-calls; another prevents a goal-keeper from releasing
the ball.
"Clip number two" is a tackle from behind for which I believe that I would
have wrongly(?) awarded a PK in real time and considered a caution (doubt I
would caution though). In slow motion it looks like a clean tackle from
behind, except I am not sure if the hand contact on the attacker's back is
trifling.
Your opinions (USSF based) would be appreciated:
a) Clean tackle from behind?
b) Trifling hand contact on the attackers back?
Regards,
Frank
