Subject: just who is playing in these games?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

went to my assignment yesterday. local unaffiliated o30 men's league. fairly casual, no ids, the teams just show up and play. it has gotten VERY competitive at the top, with some wealthy guys paying players. the quality is quite high for only a trophy, no possibility of playing for anything else in the league. and the field is barely legal size. so yesterday this french guy shows up to play. you might have seen him if you watch international games from a few years ago. frank deboeuf. won a couple of things like the european championships in 2000 and a world cup in 2002. and there he was. unfortunately he had no real opportunity to show his skills. didn't touch the ball much and then it was all one touch. yes it went where he wanted, but he didn't look awesome. ;-) in the 2nd half he went in goal. I asked him how often he played there and he said never. mentioned fabien bartez. then he let in a goal playing as wild as bartez. I told him he played with bartez too much, picked up bad keeper habits. all in all a great event with some great skills on display. lee
