AEG set to move MLS San Jose Earthquakes to Houston --------------------------------------------------- Media outlets in Houston, San Jose, and Los Angeles are reporting that Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is scheduled to hold a joint press conference with civic officials in Houston this Friday (December 17) to announce the relocation of Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise San Jose Earthquakes to Houston for the 2006 season. The Los Angeles-based AEG was unable to sell the franchise to local buyers in San Jose, primarily due to the lack of a stadium operating deal including ancilary revenues. AEG claimed to have lost $20 million in San Jose during the past 3 years.
