Sorry about my earlier post. I tried to clone a previous message into a new message and it did not work.

I was watching a FA match this week and noticed that the video quality was very strange. The pitch was a smeared, washed out green without any texture. Something like the early soccer video games. I have noticed this before. This time I looked for other defects. The players would become fuzzy and smear into the background. Legs with red socks would disappear when the player was moving fast. This happened only on the long distant shots. Closeups looked normal. The UEFA match from Italy also had a few glitches. When the camera panned, the pitch blurred. I don't see this in MLS broadcasts ( and when I referee!). Has anyone else noticed this? If so, does anyone know the inside story.

Phil Lynchburg, Va, USA
